Warehouse Laborer

Job description

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of onions.
The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to the onion warehouse operation.
General warehouse duties will include the following responsibilities: tend/ monitor machine to ensure proper movement of product; discard diseased, rotting, inferior product and foreign matter; report malfunctions; general cleanup of machinery and surrounding area; sort produce according to grade, color and size; place onions in bags that are inside the packing shed once they are off the line; sort out culls; stack bags on pallets; load semi-trucks with packed product; operate forklift; fill totes with onions; inspect onions according to state guidelines; perform general maintenance jobs on packing line including replacing cups/fixing rollers and belts; hand stack and wrap pallets; perform inventory management; drive company owned vehicles to and from work; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers; inspect/repair totes/pallets and load railcars.
