Job description

Job duties include diagnose, adjust, repair, perform routine servicing on equipment and trucks used to harvest and haul a perishable crop; fix and repair metal damaged on equipment; must be able to cut, fabricate, and weld metal; repair/maintain farm vehicles, implements, mechanical equipment and trucks; 3 months previous experience of repairing & maintaining sugarcane harvest equipment required. Job involves extensive sitting, exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift/carry sufficient weight (approximately 50 pounds) to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks.  The Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Travel may be required to and from field locations; transportation is provided; drug screening may be required upon hire and randomly (paid for by employer). Bonus may be paid at the end of the contract at the discretion of the employer. Base hours offered is 49 hours; additional hours are usually offered during a plentiful season and may include 10-40 additional hours of work depending on the nature of the season.

Accordingly, the wage rate for this job opportunity is controlled by the Amended Preliminary Injunction Order issued by the Hon. Robert Summerhays on December 5, 2024, Rec. Doc. 61., Case 6:23 – cv – 00831.**

El trabajo implica estar mucho tiempo sentado, exposición a temperaturas extremas, movimientos repetitivos y agacharse con frecuencia. Debe poder levantar/llevar peso suficiente (aproximadamente 50 libras) para mover el equipo y el material necesarios para completar las tareas asignadas.  El Empleador se basará en las propias representaciones y observaciones de los trabajadores para evaluar si los trabajadores cumplen con esta calificación. Es posible que se requiera viajar hacia y desde lugares de campo; se proporciona transporte; Es posible que se requiera detección de drogas al momento del alquiler y de forma aleatoria (pagada por el empleador). La bonificación podrá pagarse al final del contrato a discreción del empleador. El horario base ofrecido es de 49 horas; Generalmente se ofrecen horas adicionales durante una temporada abundante y pueden incluir de 10 a 40 horas adicionales de trabajo dependiendo de la naturaleza de la temporada.
