Job description

1. Follow supervisor instructions always and arrive to work on time.
2. Conduct thorough and accurate pre-trip inspections on farm trucks.
3. Safe and correct operation of trucks. Perform duties in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques.
4. Safe and correct hook-up of trailers.
5. Drive along the side of harvesting equipment in the field to get loaded. Return to the farm with loaded potatoes.
6. Weigh the potatoes on a scale at the farm.
7. Safely and correctly load/unload trailer with potatoes.
8. Ensure potatoes are correctly distributed in the trailer to comply with regulations.
9. Follow delivery instructions to and from the field being harvested to the farm shed.
10. Maintain and care for truck equipment, including basic maintenance.
11. Communicate with office personnel, field supervisors, other personnel in a courteous, professional manner.
12. Participate in safety trainings, orientations and all other company meetings as required.
13. Report all injuries to supervisor immediately regardless of how slight they might seem.
14. When not operating the farm trucks, employees will be required to participate in the basic maintenance and cleaning of the trucks.
If driving duties are not available, workers will perform these duties on the farm or in the fields:
1. Use hand tools, including but not limited to: shovels, hoes, potato forks and knives.
2. Unloading and grading potatoes
3. Operating a forklift
4. Perform general farm duties as necessary.
All tools will be provided at no cost.

Special Requirements

Employees must maintain a drivers license that allows them to operate a vehicle in the United States for commercial purposes. Driving
farm field trucks over 26,000 pounds will be required. Drivers are not required to have a Class A CDL due to the agricultural
exemption according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act 395.1((k)(1). Drivers must have at least 3 months experience driving a
vehicle over 26,000 lbs.
