Job description
We are looking for experienced calving help. Night calve in all weather conditions. There will be about 350 heifers. responsible for keeping barn clean, work with others as needed. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; clean work areas;
tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, and electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: box sorting equipment, horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock, pickups, cars, etc. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, hay. Employee will care for the garden by tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, and harvesting; Assist with daily job duties for cattle, which includes feeding, administering medication, along with maintaining facilities; Assist with care and maintenance of chickens including but not limited to cleaning houses, monitoring birds, checking feeders and waterers, collecting and cleaning eggs; Maintain grounds and landscaping with tractor, bushhog, weed eater, mower and other tools as necessary; Prepare and cook food. Keep kitchen, dining, and prep area clean and sanitized; Perform housekeeping duties; Clerical office work such as filing papers, sorting, copying, helping with accounts, running errands such as deposits to bank, picking up documents, mailing documents; Maintain office space. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: clean work areas, construct facilities, construct structures to support plant growth, hand pick and manually grade crops, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, maintain inventory, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, work in extreme temperatures. Care and maintenance of nurse cows used to supplement the feeding of orphan calves, this could include, feeding, watering, cleaning stalls, hand milking, vaccinating, providing hay, assisting calves with nursing, feed, water and tend to domestic animals used in the production of livestock that guard and protect livestock from pests and predators. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
