Job description
Same for all positions: there are two (2) to four (4) stations per table. Floral designers are in a standing position as they build the arrangements, wreaths or garlands. Clippers are the only tool required and are provided by the company. Floral designers receive on-the-job training in the proper techniques and positioning of materials. All materials are provided to the worker So that there are no delays in the actual assembly process.
Arrangements: the arrangement process is totally by hand; no machinery is involved. The worker begins the process by selecting a few Pieces of the pre-cut fi r boughs and places them in a bunch, to be rubber-banded together, or into a container filled with floral foam. This Step is repeated until the arrangement is completed to the satisfaction of the employer. The worker then places the completed Arrangements onto a worker-specific table, from which they are examined for quality and counted.
Garlands: the garland-making process is assisted by a machine. The worker begins the process by selecting a few pieces of pre-cut fi r boughs and cedar and places them onto a wire which is then wrapped by a smaller gauge wire by a machine. This step is repeated until the specified length of garland is completed. Once the worker has completed the specified length of garland, it is placed on the floor where it is examined for quality, length and counted.
Wreaths: The wreath-making process is totally by hand; no machinery is involved. The worker begins the process by selecting a few pieces of the pre-cut fir boughs and places them on a wire ring. The wire rings diff er in circumference. The worker then wraps the selected boughs to the wire ring using a smaller gauge wire to secure the elements.
Special Requirements
-Workers need to be able to stand for their 8 hour shift, have dexterity to use their hands quickly workers need to be able to have an eye for quality & appearance so the product looks good.
-May conduct post-hire employer-paid drug testing.
Special Requirements and Provisions:
-Schedule varies (days of the week and shift times). Additional hours may be offered. May be required to work weekends.
-Employer may offer a bonus depending on experience and merit.
-Employer will assist in helping the employee secure transportation to and from work, if desired, which is paid by the employee.
-Employer-provided housing is not offered. The employer will assist workers, if interested, to locate housing options which will be paid by the workers.
