Job description
Shuttle driver will pick up workers, take them to worksite, field walk and drive workers back to their housing. Workers will be required to have a valid and unexpired commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement or international equivalent. They will also assist with timekeeping, fill water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, and ensure field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day. They are required to check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. They are required to take workers once a week to the bank and food store. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. May be required to assist when needed to operate and maintain equipment used to move supplies and harvesting equipment in the field - including operation and control of equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil, planting, cultivation, and harvesting crops. May load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using hand-trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Should be able to observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Must be able reach, bend and lift items weighing 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in wet, dusty and dirty conditions, in extreme heat and cold inclement weather. Must be able to listen to, understand and follow simple instructions of supervisors and dispatcher. Must be able to work in fields where ants, snakes and poison ivy are encountered. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic devices during working hours is strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination.
