Job description
Crops/Commodities: Multi-species livestock including pigs, sheep, goats, and poultry. Pasture forage such as alfalfa, Bermuda grass, native grasses.
Workers will feed and water chickens daily, as well as move mobile chicken tractors to fresh pasture areas to ensure proper rotation and soil health. The position includes feeding and watering pigs, and moving pigs between different pastures as needed for breeding and farrowing operations. Workers will also feed and water cattle, moving them between corrals as required for proper pasture management.
Additional responsibilities include feeding and watering turkeys and moving turkey tractors to new pasture areas regularly. Workers will repair and maintain farm fencing to ensure proper containment of livestock. They will identify and repair irrigation line issues and perform regular maintenance on irrigation systems. Workers will relocate irrigation lines as needed for effective field and pasture watering.
The position involves planting alfalfa and other forage grasses for livestock pasture. Workers will feed and water sheep, assist with sorting sheep into appropriate breeding groups, and help with sheep wellness checks and health monitoring. They will assist with ear tagging procedures and maintain accurate records during lambing season. Workers will also sort and prepare sheep for processing. H-2A workers do not work in the processing plant.
Special Requirements
Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid upon-suspicion drug testing. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated. Three months experience required working on a livestock farm.
