Job description

Operate stationary equipment such as feeder, dryer, cleaner, gin stand, lint cleaner, press; to perform post-harvest tasks such as ginning; cleaning and separating cotton lint from seed and waste material; record weights and other identifying information including weight of bale and seed; manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery; guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; observe, listen, and monitor machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; load cotton onto truck with trailer and drive to and from field and storage; drive pickup to obtain parts and supplies; maintain inventory; attach equipment using hand tools; weigh and record weights; operate forklift, loader, tractor and other farm equipment; upkeep, repair, maintain and clean equipment and worksite while ginning; record information about crops; during times of peak need and depending on weather or crop conditions, hours requested may increase; work at night may be requested; employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
