Job description

Job requires culling, shucking, sorting, washing, weighing, labeling, palletizing, loading, and storing oysters and/or oyster meat. Oysters are unloaded by hand from a truck (by dock workers) into a holding cooler, then they are lifted by forklift (by forklift driver) for transporting to the shucking area. The oysters are then loaded on tables, culled, then shucked by hand by oyster shuckers and the meat is sorted, washed, weighed, labeled and stored in trays until sold. Once sold, the oyster meat is re-sacked by requested size and weight and loaded on trays and pallets for transport. Clean and maintain work area by discarding empty shells.

Special Requirements

Oysters sacks may sometimes weigh approximately 50 pounds.
