Job description

a. Care, teach, and perform age-appropriate activities for young children, such as lap play, reading, and arts and crafts, to encourage intellectual development of children.
b. Organize and conduct age-appropriate recreational and enriching activities, such as games, arts and crafts, sports, walks, and play dates.
c. If required, supervise and assist children with school work and communication with teachers or instructors.
d. Help prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children.
e. Model appropriate social and moral behaviors and encourage concern for others to cultivate development of interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
f. Vigilantly monitor and engage children to ensure they are safe, secure, and involved in developmentally appropriate, risk-free activities.
g. Observe children's behavior for irregularities, take temperature, transport children to doctor, or administer medications, as directed, to maintain children's health.
h. Work with parents to develop and implement discipline programs to promote desirable child behavior.
i. Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties related to children's care.
j. Meet regularly with parents to discuss children's activities and development.
k. Help develop or monitor family schedule.
l. Shop for groceries, clothing, and other items needed for children's care.

Special Requirements

Employer will offer at least 36 hours a week; between 6am-12noon and 3-8pm; 6 days a week (Sundays off), sometimes split shift is required, with some afternoon/evening hours. Although unanticipated, if worker is offered and accepts to work more than 40 hours ("overtime") in any given week, employer will compensate worker overtime at time and half, which is $21.87.
