Job description
The Supervisor will oversee and work alongside a team of agricultural workers engaged in post-harvest field preparation and planting of tomatoes on up to 94 acres, following the third cutting of hay crop. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all field operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Duties include: Lead and supervise a crew of farm workers in clearing, grading, and preparing fields for tomato planting. Provide hands-on training and instruction to crew members on quality standards, safety procedures, and daily production goals. Monitor and ensure compliance with worksite safety, housing rules, and company policies. Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as required by farm management. Communicate effectively and positively with workers to maintain morale and productivity. Identify and correct unsafe practices; promote a culture of safety and accountability. Maintain accurate records including:
Hours worked, Production logs, Incident and accident reports, etc. Conduct regular safety meetings and relay management updates to the crew. Work schedule may include nights and weekends as directed by farm management.
Special Requirements
Worker must possess at least 6 months of supervisor experience in agriculture. Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. May require pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, containers, etc. May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while examining, supervising, or performing demonstrations for training workers on job duties. Worker will be required to stoop and/or bend over while training workers on job duties. There will be repetitive movements while training workers on job duties
