Job description
Drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight to transport agricultural commodities from field to first point of processing. Load/unlaod items from trucks. Perform basic vehicle maintenance on truck and trailer. Must also wear a helmet at certain grain elevators and know how to read coordinates to be able to get to fields and load grain.
Special Requirements
Requires six months of previous truck driving experience. Must lift/carry 75 lbs., when necessary. Saturday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Valid CDL or equivalent required. The occupation requires the driving of trucks. Employee will return to the worksite at the end of every work day. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
Overtime hours vary. Employees engaged in the loading of motor vehicles as defined in 29 CFR 782.5 are ineligible for overtime pursuant to the Motor Carrier Act.
