Job description
Prepare, serve, and feed nutritionally balanced snacks, meals, and bottles for children. Dress or assist children with dressing. Engage with children in age-appropriate activities, such as lap play, reading, and arts and crafts, and outdoor activities to encourage intellectual development of children. Work with parents to implement discipline programs to promote desirable child behavior. Instruct and assist children in the development of health and personal habits, such as eating, brushing teeth, and toilet behavior. Model appropriate social behaviors and encourage concern for others to cultivate development of interpersonal relationships and communication skills. Monitor appropriate chores and praise targeted behaviors to encourage development of self-control, self-confidence, and responsibility. Remove hazards and develop appropriate boundaries and rules to create a safe environment for children. Perform first aid when required. Observe children's behavior for irregularities, take temperature, or administer medications, as directed, to maintain children's health. Perform housekeeping, laundry, and general cleaning duties related to children's care. Transport children to activities, social outings, and medical appointments. Shop for groceries, clothing, and other items needed for children's care. All duties will be performed in a private household environment. The worksite for this job opportunity is the family home, with errands and outings in or within regular commuting distance of the same Metropolitan Statistical Area as the worksite.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of experience as a nanny or childcare worker. Must be able to lift and carry weight sufficient to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. Ability to stand throughout the shifts. Ability to physically engage in sports and active play with children. Use of kitchen appliances, laundry machines, and the household automobile. Possession of or eligibility for Florida drivers license. First aid and CPR certification. High school diploma (or EAD). 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Schedule may vary and can include evenings, weekends, or holidays, as needed. Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of worker to assess if worker meets the lifting, standing, and other physical ability requirements stated herein.
