Pillow Factory Worker

Job description

Assemble seasonal decorative pillows and outdoor cushions on pillow factory production line. Operate sewing machines as required to close filled pillow and cushion openings. Inspect, and pack pillows and cushions. Prepare raw material for production of cushion inserts and fiber fills.

Specific duties include:

Receive raw material for pillows and cushions.
Stage raw material at production line.
Fill pillows at blowing machine.
Fill cushions with densified fiber on stuffing machines.
Close pillows with sewing machine and/or install zippers.
Close cushions with sewing machines and/or install zippers.
Pack finished pillows and cushions into cartons.
Apply appropriate product identification markers and shipping labels.
Palletize cartons of completed pillows and apply plastic shrink wrap.
Transfer finished pillow products to warehouse.
Pull warehouse production for Shipping department and move to ship dock.
Load trucks for customer shipments.
Receive and stage fiber for densified polyester production line.
Offload densified polyester cushions from production line and load into transfer bins.
Move densified cushion inserts to production area for production.

Finished products will be transferred to warehouses by conveyor belt or pallet jack. Note that Forklift Operators will also be hired separately by Petitioner to transfer large quantities of products to Warehouses. Operating a forklift will not be a job duty for the Pillow Factory Worker.

Pallets of boxed products will be delivered to the dock from the warehouse by conveyor belt or pallet jack. Pallets may be down-stacked and floor loaded by hand. Roller belts are used to move cartons into the truck trailer if down stacking and floor load is the customer requirement. Pallets may also be loaded by forklift separately by forklift drivers.

Products will be moved from the warehouse by conveyor belt or pallet jack. Products may also be moved separately by forklift by forklift operators.
