Job description
Workers will support grain and hay farming operations during the fall and winter seasons. Primary duties include operating large
agricultural machinery such as tractors (≤ and >150 hp), air drills, planters, sprayers, combines, and grain carts for field preparation,
planting, spraying, and harvesting. Workers will also drive semi-trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions to transport
harvested crops, equipment, and inputs to and from fields and storage locations.
Additional responsibilities include crop scouting, fertilizer and pesticide application, grain handling and auger setup, irrigation setup and
maintenance, and post-harvest processing such as sorting, grading, drying, and loading. Workers are expected to conduct daily checks,
preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment. General farm duties also include cleaning and organizing shop areas and
ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Workers must be reliable, able to work in cold and icy conditions, and preferably experienced in winter driving. A clean driving record
and ability to pass drug/alcohol screening are essential.
Termination Clause:
Employment is at-will. However, a typical progressive disciplinary process will be followed, including: (1) Written Warning, (2) Final
Warning, and (3) Termination. This ensures fair treatment while maintaining the employer’s right to terminate at any time under
applicable law.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme
temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other
benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain.
