Job description
Seasonal farmworkers are needed to support livestock operations during peak periods on a working ranch with sheep, lambs, goats, and cattle. Duties include feeding and watering animals, cleaning barns, assisting with lambing and calving, and general farm maintenance. Applicants must have at least six months of experience handling sheep and cattle, with knowledge of animal husbandry practices such as assisting with births, identifying and relocating animals that have delivered to bonding pens, and monitoring the health of pregnant and newborn livestock. Responsibilities also include branding, vaccinating, castrating, skinning when necessary, sorting, and loading animals for transport to pasture or market. Workers must be able to set up and relocate portable corrals and operate vehicles used to deliver supplemental feed and water. Additional tasks involve repairing water pipelines and troughs, rotating animals between fenced pastures to maintain nutrition and grazing practices, and performing general upkeep of the property. Employees will work eight-hour shifts within a 24-hour period as determined by the employer.

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
