Job description

Crops: Row crops including but not limited to Bell peppers, Broccoli, Cabbages, Cabbage, kale, collards, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Greens, Kale, Peppers, Squashes, Tomatoes, Turnips, Zucchini.

Cultivate and harvest vegetables. May spread plastic or other ground covering. Weeds, thins, plants. Picks, cuts, lifts, or pulls crop to harvest them. May tie vegetables in bunches or top them. Workers may work on planters, planting seeds and transplanting seedlings. Workers may cultivate and weed as needed and assist with irrigation and fertilization. Workers must also stake/tie plants. Workers will trellis and prune plants. Workers will pick produce as it ripens. Considerable stooping and kneeling are required. Care must be taken to prevent damaging produce and plants. May operate tractors and implements. Implements include, but are not limited to seeders, transplanters, plastic mulch layer and lifter, drip tape layer, cultivating equipment, rototiller, mower. Washing and packing duties sorting/grading, washing, bunching, and packing of produce. Workers will also assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the packing area.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
