The job duties will require the position to perform the following tasks: post and preseason equipment and vehicle inspections; winterizing all farm equipment and vehicles for which it is required; overhaul farm machinery and vehicles; dismantle defective machines; reassemble machines and equipment; test operation of components; test and replace electrical components and wiring using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools; tune engines; replace or fix defective parts; fabricate new metal parts; patch or replace bent or torn sheet metal; disassemble equipment; service defective engines or replace engine components; adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance; test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning; clean equipment, parts, or tools to keep them in good working order; install machine or equipment replacement parts; test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning; paint and coat equipment with protective coatings; inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear; repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; fabricate parts or components; and fix structural components. In addition to equipment maintenance, the position will assist with the seasonal conversion of an existing garage into a functional farm shop.

During periods of snow accumulation, the position includes snow removal responsibilities. This involves operating snow removal equipment to clear snow from driveways, access roads, and equipment paths. Sand or salt may be applied to maintain safe walking and driving conditions around work zones. Timely snow removal is essential to prevent disruption in daily operations.

Daily duties may vary. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure safe housing and work environments for all workers. Positive drug test results or refusal to comply with testing may result in termination of employment. If the employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that the employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(n).
