Job description
Supervise, manage and coordinate all aspects of pecan harvest. Must have full working knowledge of savage harvesting equipment, and the associated cleaning of equipment necessary to prepare the pecans for sale. Must have experience with pecans, including understanding the physiology of the pecans and the actions needed to ensure a fast and successful harvest. Must have knowledge of the pecan market in order to facilitate the sale of the pecans. Must have established contacts in the pecan market place to use as an outlet for harvested pecans. Must have working knowledge of various varieties, and be able to recognize certain varieties when examining large quantities of pecans. Must have working knowledge of post harvest activities necessary to prepare the orchard for the following year. Farming with: pecans
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
