Job description

Workers will operate tractors and farm equipment to prepare fields as weather allows, handle on-farm grain (load/unload and move grain between the farm’s fields and the employer’s storage, and make short, local hauls of the employer’s own crops to nearby elevators using non-CDL farm trucks), and perform routine cleaning/servicing of farm machinery (wash, grease, change filters/fluids, replace belts/chains/tires/hoses, basic wiring/lighting checks) including winterizing and function-checking planters, tillage tools, seed tenders, and sprayers (no pesticide mixing/applying). Workers will also maintain farm yards/roads, repair/maintain fences and gates bordering crop fields, and keep shops and storage areas clean and organized while following employer safety rules. No grain-bin entry or other confined-space work. No construction/building remodeling, no services for third parties, and no over-the-road/commercial hauling. Employer provides all tools/equipment and training at no cost. Duties, locations, and hours may vary by crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer may offer higher pay or a bonus based on performance or tenure at its discretion; this will not reduce the offered wage.

Special Requirements

Employees will be required to lift seed bags and load planters and seed drills with a minimum requirement of 50 pounds. Moderate cell phone use will be allowed for business purposes only. A valid drivers license will be required once employee arrive on the farm. Other requirement would be non smoking and no drinking.
