Grain Storage Facility Operator

Job description

Job requires preparing scale tickets, monitoring to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards; transferring grain to proper storage location; shipping grain from elevator as required and transferring grain from storage bins to truck bins prior to shipment; operating augers and conveyors; clearing grain from automatic conveyor system that is causing jams, stoppages, or gaps in grain movement; performing housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained; performing maintenance & minor miscellaneous repair on augers, grain bins and other tools involved with the storage of grain; loading and driving farm trucks to transport grain from grain storage location to market (no CDL required). There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or engage in various general functions.

Pay increase or bonus may be possible to employees depending on experience or merit and are at the sole discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Basic literacy and math skills required. Applicant must have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. A criminal background check may be conducted post hire at the employer's expense to ensure the employees and equipment are in a safe environment. Increase or bonus may be possible based on experience and merit. Workers will sit, walk, stoop, and lift for prolonged periods of time. Workers will work outside in hot, cold, wet, or dry weather.
