Job description

Work under this contract will consist of harvesting Bok Choy, Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Green Leaf Lettuce, Iceberg Lettuce, Napa Cabbage and Romaine Lettuce. In addition to harvest, workers will also be packing the produce in the field, loading, stacking, performing general labor, and driving a tractor and/or forklift.

Bathroom attendant is responsible to oversee the general cleanliness of bathrooms as well as monitor proper hand washing compliance. Every morning attendant will do a walk thru around portable toilets and ensure that they are in working order and properly stocked. General cleaning, draining of tanks, vacuum service vehicles, and restocking of unit should be done as needed. Attendant will notify Supervisor of any water containers that need filling and/or repairs needed to the units. Attendant will monitor employees' hand washing and verify that employees are complying with the company's hand washing protocol before entering the field or returning back to work. Following proper hand washing, the bathroom attendant is responsible to give employees a clean pair of gloves. Any non-compliance of hand washing should be reported immediately to the supervisor. Janitors will clean and sanitize bathrooms, and restock supplies at end of day in preparation for next day. Maintain valid state-issued driver's license Class C. Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning. Janitors are required to drive vans or other vehicles to worksites. Janitors will engage in harvesting activities when not cleaning. Janitors may be asked to wash company vehicles.

General information: no candidate will be excluded based on the absence of a driver's license or FLCE certificate at the time of application or hiring. Employment will not be terminated due to failure to obtain these credentials. Compensation adheres to AEWR guidelines for all duties performed related to driving, administrative tasks, and fieldwork.

Flexibility and adaptability: willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons and adapt to changing weather conditions or urgent operational needs. Willingness to travel between worksites: the position may require travel between different farm locations. Candidates must be willing to work in various locations as needed and adapt to different environments.

Workers who have a valid state drivers' license or are able to obtain one may be asked to drive company vehicles and/or transport other workers.

Special Requirements

Farmworker candidates must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in agriculture within the last 2 years, specifically related to Iceberg Lettuce, Green Leaf Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Napa Cabbage, Bok Choy, Celery, and Brussel Sprouts. Experience in Food Safety and Workplace Safety: The candidate must have hands-on experience implementing and maintaining food safety and workplace and safety protocols within agricultural operations. This includes ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering a culture of safety among team members. All work must be performed in a manner that exhibits Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and the utmost food safety at all times. Janitor candidates must have 3 months experience within the last 2 years performing janitorial tasks.
