Grading And Packing Facility Worker

Job description

Job duties include grading, packing, and bagging onions; operating various farm equipment to perform these duties includes but is not limited to forklift, skidsteer, loader, and pickup trucks. Duties also include shop and equipment maintenance and repairs; fixing onion and turfgrass pallets; snowplowing; monitoring condition of stored soy, snap beans, and peas; and building maintenance. Manual duties include grading, bagging, stacking pallets, operating drill and hammer, sweeping in grain bins that may contain corn or wheat, shoveling, and bending over and lifting when necessary. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop and weather conditions.

Pay increase or bonus may be possible to employees depending on experience or merit and are at the sole discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

The basic job requirements listed in Section B, Item 4 of the ETA-790A may apply when employees bag onions, stack pallets, lifting bags of onions to be stacked, sweeping grain bins, and fixing boxes. Job requires having or being able to obtain a standard drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
