Job description
After the grower/landowner cultivates the pine trees, which the forestry division marks, the workers will manually gather pine straw by raking, baling, stacking, grading, sorting, and tying. Peak pine needle fall begins in late October or early November and lasts through late summer each year. Raking during these months allows a portion of the yearly needle drop to stay in place.
Workers will clean field areas by picking up sticks before raking the area. Workers will also perform cleaning and weeding tasks. Workers may lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Special Requirements
The employer will only conduct a drug test if the worker (employee) is in a work-related accident. The drug testing will be at the employer's expense. If the worker fails the drug test or refuses to undergo drug testing, this will likely be considered probable cause for termination of employment.
