Job description
Assist with calving cows and heifers; assist calves' immune system by administering vaccinations and medicine, treating with antibiotics, providing colostrum within 6 hours of birth; record calving dates and calf weights, ear tag and number calves at birth; use equipment to move hay for feeding cows and heifers to build animal health and strength in preparation for calving; break ice in frozen water troughs, repair frozen and/or broken lines; move cows to pasture as forage begins to grow, move yearlings to market to be sold. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
