Job description

Wean yearling calves, ensure constant separate between mothers and yearlings; daily feed and water cows and heifers in preparation for calving, break ice in water troughs; calve cows and heifers, warm calves if too cold; check newborn calves and mothers multiple times daily, record birth weights, tag calves; administer medicine and vaccinations to mothers and calves as necessary; sell yearlings; moving cattle between pens with pickup and stock trailer or atv for rotational grazing; move cows and newborn calves to growing grass at end of season; inspect, maintain, prepare, repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, fences, barns, lean tos, fences, corrals as necessary to contain and handle cattle; Must speak English.

Special Requirements

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
