Job description
Perform the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving livestock home from fall pastures in December. Fall cattle work. Pregnancy checking. Weaning Calves. Feeding cattle . Bedding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Maintaining feed equipment. Welding maintenance. Inspect livestock for injury and illness. Open frozen water. Snow removal. Shipping calves to market. Preparing barns and cattle for calving. Calving begins the end of February through April. Cleaning barns. Repairing haying equipment. Hauling commodities. Freeze branding cattle. Sorting cattle. Cleaning feed bunks. Grinding hay. Grinding grain. Drive to town to pickup cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English.
