Job description
Workers will perform a variety of livestock care duties including feeding, watering, herding, grazing, and monitoring animals to ensure health and productivity. Duties include assisting with breeding and birthing, castrating, branding, vaccinating, and medicating livestock as directed. Workers will clean, repair, and maintain barns, pens, pastures, fences, and water systems; harvest, store, and distribute feed, hay, and supplements; and lay out salt/mineral blocks. Additional duties include catching, weighing, loading, and transporting animals as required, as well as operating tractors, ATVs, and other equipment related to livestock care. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and may require long hours, including weekends and holidays.
Special Requirements
Workers must be able to lift and carry items like feed bags, fuel jugs, and other daily supplies, with a lifting requirement of up to 50 pounds.
Moderate cell phone use is allowed, but only for work-related purposes. Personal use during work hours is not permitted.
Applicants must provide an employment reference and have a three-year clean driving record for insurance purposes, especially if
operating vehicles or machinery.
