Job description

We have a small cow calf operation. The job will involve moving cattle, checking cattle water, doctoring cattle, deliver cattle to auction mending/painting fence, feeding cattle, and moving hay. Our equipment primarily consists of late model equipment comprising of both John Deere and Case machines. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, growth inhibitors, etc, attach/detach implements, be able to handle working in high humidity, clean work areas, haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil, identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of fertilizers, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair fences and other corrals, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock, pickups, cars, etc, sprayers, spreaders, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tractor/trailer combinations. Must speak and understand English.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
