Job description

Job duties include: rebuild and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, tillage tools, planters/seeders, hay equipment, pickups, semi’s etc. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Clean and lubricate parts. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Remove openers from planters/seeders and rebuild as necessary replacing bearings, blades and worn parts. Rebuild seed meters and calibrate. Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, hoses and other parts. Disassemble peanut combines and rebuild using new parts. Disassemble and rebuild wheel motors, engines and pumps. Operate power washer to remove dirt and oil before and after rebuilding equipment. Load semi’s with hopper bottom trailers; drive and deliver grain to market or ports using semi and hopper bottom trailer. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team. Must speak and understand English.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
