Job description
Temporary need for seasonal tasks associated with birthing, nursing, feeding, weaning and pre-conditioning of 2026 calf crop . Sesonal duties include routine breaking of ice on frozen ponds and troughs, regular weighing, attending to sick calves and preparing and manaing feeding. Calving duties include scheduled medical treatments through weaning and pre-conditioning up to sale in September or October 2026. Cows are bred to deliver from Jan 1 -Mar 30, 2026
(Previous H2A permits included forage assistant, with overlapping seasons. These duties and overlapping work duties no longer apply as the owner has assumed all forage responsibilities. Firewheel ranch will only include calving assistant in this and subsequent H2-A applications)
Based on experience and current processing times, Firewheel ranch is requesting longer than the stipulated lead time of 75 days. Currently the USCIS and Department of State Entry Visa processing can take up to 90 days and must be done sequentially. e.g. a visa appointment cannot be scheduled until the I-97 Permit is granted.
Special Requirements
Applicant must be able to demonstrate prior calving/medical treatment knowledge and experience to be verified by references. Applicant must be able to drive manual transmission, operate tractors with implements and conduct first line maintanence.
