Job description
Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Wean young; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to swath, rake, bale, hay and to distribute hay, feed to animals; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Wean and sort cattle for sale; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair equipment, facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
