Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock:
Feeding cattle; cattle work and pregnancy checks; weaning; working and vaccinating cattle; maintaining feed equipment; welding maintenance; inspecting livestock for illness or injuries; maintaining and repairing grazing fences; hauling water to heifers; preparing ranch barns and grounds for freeze; opening frozen water tanks and springs; snow removal; shipping calves to market; preparing barns and cattle for calving; calving; cleaning barns; and repairing or maintaining feeding equipment as needed.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 month of experience with handling cattle/livestock is required. Must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
