Job description
Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Mix feed in prescribed portions; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Closely monitor animal condition in cold, wet, icy weather; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Conserve animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock facilities such as feeding/watering equipment; Provide mineral to cattle; Break ice in watering facilities. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
