Job description
AEWR; US Workers: LA: $9.59; H2A Workers: LA: $8.24.
All work must be performed during winter months where crop acres are dormant due to cold weather and short daylight hours. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 53-7064 Packers and Packagers for managing marketing of grain from on farm bins: Examine and inspect crops to ensure that quality and specifications are met; Sort according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality; Function and monitor grain conditioning tools to ensure efficient and safe conditioning of grain to meet quality standards; Use augurs, suction gates, shovels, brooms; Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information; Discard inferior, diseased, rotten, or defective crops or foreign matter, and place acceptable products for processing; Monitor and report grain grades; Deliver grain to ports; Must be able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
