Job description
AEWR; US Workers: IA: $14.20; H2A Workers: IA: $13.05.
Preparing livestock for birthing, prepare temporary fencing; ensuring existing fence stability and fixing any problem areas; birthing livestock; monitor livestock multiple times daily for any early birthing; pull babies from struggling mothers; monitor mothers and babies multiple times daily; move snow, break ice in watering facilities, ensure hay, salt and mineral blocks availability depending on weather conditions; check all livestock for weather related issues; move livestock to grass pasture in the spring as forage becomes available; remove all temporary fencing; wean babies by separating from mothers; monitor livestock for issues arising from pregnancy; sell weaned young when grass forage availability is depleted. Helping with seeding crops, chopping silage, harvesting crops for feed. Hauling manure on fields and monitoring manure levels in barns.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
