Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Inspect pregnant livestock for illness/injury, Treat sick/injured pregnant livestock, Move pregnant livestock to calving facility, Prepare pregnant livestock for calving, Assist with calving, Tend to livestock after calving, Inspect calves for illness/injury, Treat sick/injured calves, Provide calves with colostrum, Retrieve feed from storage, Prepare feed and mix in additives, Deliver feed to livestock facilities, Give feed to livestock, Break/melt/remove ice from water, Deliver water to livestock facilities, Give water to livestock, Inspect livestock for illnesses and injuries, Separate sick livestock from the herd, Administer medications/injury care, Administer vaccinations, Herd livestock, Brand livestock, Castrate livestock, Weigh livestock, Spray livestock with insecticide, Protect livestock from predators, Distribute bedding, Receive new livestock, Vaccinate/treat new livestock, Brand new livestock, Clean the receiving area, Maintain windbreaks/fencing, Prepare livestock for market. Drive pick-up truck to town for cattle supplies on occasion. Farming with: Beef Cattle
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion. Workers must be responsible, follow instructions, and comply with attendance, punctuality, and work schedules, as repeated absenteeism, failure to meet job expectations, misconduct, insubordination, or violations of safety protoco
