Job description
Workers will operate and maintain various types of farm equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to combines, cotton pickers, grain elevators, sprayers, tractors, and other row crop machinery. Job duties include cultivating, seeding, and harvesting row crops such as corn, cotton, and grain; loading and unloading trucks; transporting crops to and from grain elevators; and performing general maintenance, cleaning, and sweeping of work areas, equipment, and grain facilities. Workers will also assist with shipping and storing crops in grain elevators and may be responsible for cleaning out grain bins and elevators as needed to maintain safe and sanitary conditions. Some workers with valid driver’s licenses may operate non-CDL trucks to transport crops or supplies. The employer maintains a drug-free workplace, and post-hire drug testing may be conducted at the employer’s expense and is not part of the interview process.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may request additional work hours based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
