Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in Soc Code 45-2093 Farmworkers, Farm, Ranch, and Aquacultural Animals such as and not limited to: Provide winter care to cows such as breaking ice in tanks, moving snow, warming calves; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed, grain, forage to cattle in the feedlot; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Transfer livestock from one location to another; Inspect, maintain, prepare, weld, and repair equipment; Check cows and calves daily to monitor for hypothermia (body temperature under 100 degrees) and provide colostrum as necessary; Clean corrals; Push, pile, and spread manure which won’t decompose in cold winter temperatures. Speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
