Workers will also haul water and feed for cattle as needed. In June, July, and August, workers will continue to monitor cattle condition—checking for wounds, performing vaccinations, medicating, and providing general care. Supplemental feeding may be required depending on forage availability. During September and October, workers will assist with gathering and sorting cattle for shipment or sale to market. Duties may include weighing, tagging, loading cattle, and performing general maintenance and cleanup of pens, corrals, and equipment used during marketing. Workers may also help prepare facilities and equipment for the upcoming season by completing repairs, servicing vehicles, and maintaining ranch infrastructure.
