Job description
OEWS; US Workers: $23.85; H2A Workers: $22.65.
Workers will perform duties, that will be carried out during the winter months, when crop acres are dormant due to cold weather, have not yet been planted, and daylight hours are shorter, related to SOC 49-3041 – Farm Equipment Mechanics and Service Technicians such as: Rebuild and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles; Assemble new and reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary; Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports to locate and diagnose malfunctions; Record details of repairs made and parts used; Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools; Clean and lubricate parts; Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws; Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools; Tune or overhaul engines; Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools; Repair bent or torn sheet metal; Replace bearings, blades and worn parts; Calibrate; Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, hoses and other parts; Winterize to prevent damage from winter weather; Additional winter activities may occasionally include operating equipment used to prepare the fields and/or moving equipment into position in preparation for the upcoming harvest season. Maintain a clean and organized work environment; Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
