Job description
Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery. Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools. Utilize massive, powerful lifting and maneuvering equipment such as overhead cranes to hold, lift, remove, disassemble, reassemble and replace the various equipment systems as specified by the OEM and equipment manufacturers in the equipment maintenance manuals. Inspect and adhere to a rigorous maintenance schedule which includes fuel systems; cooling systems; transmission systems; air filter systems; hydraulic systems; axle systems; differential systems; drive train systems; steering systems; brake systems; air line systems; airbags, shock absorber and leave springs systems; electrical systems and tires. Winterize equipment that is stored outside to prevent freezing. Apply grease. Replace damaged or bad parts.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 12 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion. Workers must be responsible, follow instructions, and comply with attendance, punctuality, and work schedules, as repeated absenteeism, failure to meet job expectations, misconduct, insubordination, or violations of safety protocols may result in termination.
