Job description
We need a seasonal employee to from January 15 through February, employees will assist with tractor maintenance and preparation of equipment for planting. This includes performing oil and fluid changes, installing dual tires on both the front and rear, and assembling side tanks for planting applications. Employees will also prepare the planters for corn planting, service fertilizer equipment for early corn planting, and upload and coordinate GPS data on all equipment. In addition, they will improve drainage issues caused by the winter season by filling in low areas, and complete general shop inventory and tool replacement as needed. Run a sprayer effectively and independently. Mix proper loads, spray proper rates, and keep records. Service machinery. Operate irrigation motors and poly pipe, risers, and valves. Lay poly pipe, punch holes and complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation system. Will need to operate a tractor to disc, row up, plant and complete other field work. Employee will need to prepare fields, work dirt, plant, spray, irrigate and harvest. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Employer will conduct post-hire random drug tests as required by workers compensation for work related incidents at no cost to the employee. Failing a drug test will result in termiantion. Must have a regular drivers license and 3 months of experience.
