Job description
Workers will perform seasonal grain handling support and routine farm equipment maintenance during the winter months. Duties include assisting with the movement, loading, and monitoring of stored grain during winter handling activities, and monitoring aeration and moisture levels under the supervision of farm management. Workers will also remove snow and ice from around grain bins, access points, and storage areas to ensure safe and uninterrupted operation. Additional duties include performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on agricultural trailers, farm trucks, forklifts, and grain-handling equipment; cleaning, organizing, and maintaining agricultural workspaces such as equipment yards, storage sheds, and service garages; and assisting with shop upkeep, tool organization, and preparation of equipment for seasonal use. Workers may perform other duties directly related to agricultural operations that are consistent with the primary role and seasonal need.
Workers will be required to work on their feet, bend, stoop, lift, carry items weighing up to
60lbs, and be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Special Requirements
The workers need to be able to carry and lift up to 60lbs. Additionally, the worker must be in good health to perform labor activities, no limitation to bend or carry weight under regulated laws or norms of weight and safety procedures), and be comfortable with working in extreme temperatures as the work will occur outside. Must also follow instructions correctly as well as company rules.
