Job description

Duties may include: Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Inspect plants and bud ties to assess quality. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies during the winter months while livestock is not able to graze. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions to ensure proper health and weight gain in calves. Break ice dams in water troughs. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Assist in hay operation such as harvesting and storing hay & other related Farm Operator; Ranch Hand activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Must be 18 due to equipment use.Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work and possess/maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
