Job description
Break ice in water troughs so cattle can drink, operate tank heaters; provide bedding for cattle to lay on, replace bedding as necessary to avoid contamination and disease, protect cattle from winter elements such as sleet, snow, ice, freezing temperatures; administering medication, processing, feeding, vaccinating livestock to strengthen immune system during extreme weather; monitor cows multiple times daily injury and sickness; load and unload; record number and weight of calves; sort cattle to be shipped out; drive truck with live belt trailer to haul feed, fertilizer, commodities to and from market points and storage; grading, sorting, and postharvest treatment of crops such as loading and unloading; drive tractor belt trailer truck driving combination to haul and inputs; clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
