Job description
Our calving season runs from December 15th to March 31st each year. Last year, we retained more heifers than usual to increase our cattle numbers, resulting in approximately 1,250 cows calving this season. First-time heifers require around-the-clock monitoring to ensure safe deliveries, as some need assistance. Calving occurs during inclement winter weather, which requires additional help. This work is strictly seasonal and limited to the months stated. Duties include feeding and watering livestock, monitoring food and water supplies, mixing feed, additives, and medicines as prescribed, transporting and distributing feed using trucks or tractors, and assisting with animal reproduction, including breeding, artificial insemination, and calving. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
