Job description
Commercial beekeeping ; raise queen bees. harvest and extract honey. feed and medicate hives.
Scrape frames. Build paint and repair equipment.
Job requires minimum of 6 months of agricultural experience working on a honeybee farm handling manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience raising queen bees and extracting honey.
Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs. Work on feet all day every day. Must not bee allergic to bee stings.
5 or 6 days a week, Saturday work required when requested. You may be requested to work on Sundays and 3 U.S. holidays: Memorial day, July 4, and labor day. Workers will not be required to work on their sabbath.
Special Requirements
Tools and clothes necessary for the job are supplied at no cost.
Employer will comply with OAR 437-002-0156, OAR 437-00300005 and OAR 437-007-004 for prevention of heat illness. And provide training to workers about heat illness prevention.
