Job description

Duties may include: Prepare growth medium and fill flats in greenhouse. Plant plants in greenhouse and field, ride/work on vegetable transplanter. Operate tractor with planters, cultivate with tractor, use appropriate tillage hand tools, hoes, wheel-hoes, scuffle hoes. Haul potting soil, fertilizer in greenhouse and fields, recognize appropriate grades of produce, wash and pack produce, load vegetables on front-end loader and pallets in shed & truck and unload for deliveries. Weed crops. Operate forklift and tractor. Repair/maintain equipment and shop work. Clean work areas and store materials. Fill out food safety forms and follow all food safety regulations. Nonsmoking, tobacco/drug free environment. Crops: vegetables and sweet potatoes
2 hour lunch break offered & other related Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday/early morning and evening work.

Special Requirements

Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash. Workers may not post or remove notices, signs, or other instructions from the employers bulletin boards or the employers property without specific authorization from the employer. Only workers may live in employer-provided housing unless other arrangements have been made with the employer.
