Job description
Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by type and level of soil
Load/unload commercial washers and dryers
Operate basic laundry equipment (washers, dryers, folding machines)
Fold, stack, and organize clean linens and towels
Inspect linens for stains or damage and separate items requiring rewash or disposal
Maintain orderly storage of clean laundry and deliver to designated areas
Clean laundry area and maintain washing/drying machines by wiping down and clearing lint filters
Follow safety and sanitation guidelines
Special Requirements
No experience required; training provided.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
Work in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive tasks.
Laundry Room Attendants Based on Weekly Minimum Hours
Laundry operations must run continuously due to:
High linen turnover
Spa, pool, restaurants, and luxury bedding
Oversized linen (duvets, robes, pillowcases, towels)
VIP-level laundering standards
Each attendant must be scheduled minimum 35 hours per week, typically 5 days/week 7 hours or 4 days 8.75 hours.
Coverage Analysis
To maintain 24/7 laundry flow, a minimum of three shifts are required:
AM Shift: 2 attendants
PM Shift: 2 attendants
Overnight Shift: 1 attendant
Total per day = 5 attendants on rotation
Weekly hours required:
5 attendants 35 hours = 175 hours/week
To cover 24/7 with days off, the standard formula is:
(168 operational hours per week 35 hours per worker) = 4.8 5 FTE minimum
Plus 1 floater = 6 total attendants
Total Laundry Attendants Required:
6 laundry room attendant
